Ogg Vorbis is a patent free alternative to mp3. To get iTunes to play Ogg Vorbis, you will need to install a special component. You can download the component from
qtcomponents.sourceforge.net

For Mac version, what I did was
- open the .dmp file
- double click on my hard drive
- click on HOME in the toolbar
- open the directory "Library"
- create a new directory "QuickTime" if it does not already exist
- drag the OggVorbis.component file into the new QuickTime folder you just created.
- restart iTunes
For the Windows version, what I did was
- unzip the .zip file
- copied the oggvorbis.qtx file into D:\WINNT\SYSTEN32\QUICKTIME (for most people this will be C:\WINNT\... or C:\WINDOWS)
- restart iTunes
