I posted some film to a new lab to try out the service, and the order included a bunch of film taken with this tiny little camera:

They also charged me extra for a blank roll, which got my blood boiling. Then I was watching videos on the Internet about certain hospitals refusing life saving health care because of their religious objections, so ... I figured in the scheme of things maybe the whole $4.50 extra isn't really a big deal. My dad and sister are going to visit us in November. For Turkey Day even. So I guess we will be thawing out a Turkey this year... instead baking a chicken, which is what we do for a Turkey Day for two. I am excited that they are coming! My brother Tristy isn't coming because he is busy with school. Eong, my step-mum isn't coming I guess because whatever. I am half offended and half relieved. Then finally after all of those thoughts rushed through my head I got an email back from the lab who had offended me for their overcharge, and they offered me a $15 to make up the difference, thanks to the nicely worded complaint that I had sent them. I wish the world was a better place. I used to think that I could make it be a better place by doing the best that I could and trying to be a good example. I don't think this is enough. Even if I am a good example. Which is in the eye of the beholder. I am glad that it isn't a worse place. Sometimes I can take comfort in that.

...

I need to read. And write. More. Everything comes out in a stream of consciousness otherwise. As bursts. And out of order.

Love the tiny camera. Also, hooray for $15 refund.

Good luck with family time on the Turkey Day. Hopefully it all passes pleasantly and with zero stress.

Actually I misspoke slightly it was a $15 coupon off my next order, so not quite as sweet as a refund.

The wonderful thing about hosting Turkey Day is that you don't have to fly or drive on the worst travel days in the year in the US! So certainly it will be less stressful than the alternative :)
