We had guests from Australia last weekend. Graeme and Margaret are my grandma's old neighbors, and close family friends. To grandma, Graeme was family. They had a good visit, I think, but unfortunately, their America tour was cut short because Graeme's sister passed away. Mum and Don were showing them around, and because of the change in plans we have mum and Don for a few extra days. I am not happy that Graeme had to go back home, but I am glad that we are getting to spend some extra time with mum and Don.
Last night the four of us watched the first debate in the downstairs. We all had a glass of wine and some potato chips to get through it.

Of course I've made up my mind a long time ago. So what I think about who “won” or “lost” is not of much concern. Or even what they actually say, to be honest. What matters is what people say about how and what they said. So I was monitoring the twitscape the whole time. My favorite post summed things up with this picture:

Probably the best debate coverage on Twitter though was from @RikerGoogling recast as the “Janeway Dukat debate”. You have to be a real Star Trek nerd in order to get it though, since it features characters from separate lesser known Star Trek series.
when did dukat demand sisko's birth certificate

The same guy is behind a number of pretty funny (if you are a Star Trek nerd) twitter accounts.
Afterword we listened to the post debate coverage from PBS and 538. I think the Democrats are in deep denial, at least publicly, about Trump's chances. Scary.
