When we go to see Lewis Black
Apr. 29th, 2016 12:32 pmMonths and months ago, Lena got tickets to see Lewis Black. When the calendar reminded me that it was this week, it came as a pleasant surprise. On the way to the show, I picked Lena up at her new work place for the first time, and got to see where she worked and meet some of her coworkers. It seems like a good place. Nobody had heard of Lewis Black. I guess they don't watch the Daily Show. The show itself was downtown at the Warner Theatre in all of its Victorian regalia. Lewis Black was hilarious and angry, as you might expect him to be. There was an especially poignant moment when he talked about a relationship that he'd had with a woman with a bipolar diagnosis. Although his views are hardly mainstream, the only thing that was controversial amongst the audience was the name for the Washington football team. He spent most of the last half hour of the show arguing with someone in one of the front rows, while keeping the parts of the audience who disagreed with that someone at bay. All and all it was an interesting evening and I am glad that Lena got tickets.
