Closed Door
Mar. 3rd, 2005 04:09 pmRon (officemate) told me yesterday that he wasn’t coming in to work today, so when I came in today, I closed my door. The light is on, and there is someone “home” but I’ve noticed that people don’t bother me when I have the door closed. Adil called to see if I was here today. What makes it absurd is that I am sure he walked over here first to see if I was around, but was too intimidated by the closed door to knock. It’s amazing what a mental barrier a door can become. It’s almost magical. This all works out, because I don’t feel like being work sociable today.
I miss the days when I lived in La Paz and Tyler would knock on my door so that we could go grab a beto burger at 2:00am on a school night, which is strange, because in every measurable way I am many times better off today than I was then. I invited Tyler to come out for my birthday in June, although he said his vacation might be in May (?). If he does come out, I will be hard pressed to find a place where we can get a beto burger around here.
