In art class once I saw a box of tissues and took one to blow my nose. The owner objected saying they were her tissues. I figured they were high school provided tissues, since most classrooms had them, so I told her they didn't belong to her. She corrected me. She was using the tissues for an art project. She had purchased the box out of her own hard earned money. I asked if I could borrow a tissue (already used). I didn't ask if she wanted me to return it. I wasn't trying to be a jerk, I just made an assumption that proved to be wrong.

I semi-officially resigned from my job today after just over four months (apparently my resignation letter needs to be in Word format to make it official). I was relieved that nobody was upset or angry (although they were understandably disappointed). Happy that I will be able to stay here a couple of weeks to finish things up (I'm eager to start my new job, but I don't like leaving dangling threads). I wasn't trying to be a jerk, and it seems like people are happy for me.
