If I had been playing the work place drinking game that Theresa suggested (which would be great if I ever have a job which I plan on quitting), then somebody would have made me pretty drunk today. Jeff was particularly snotty today. He’s not a bad person; he is just socially clueless and hasn’t learned that there is a polite way to say something and a rude way. Several times today I felt like smacking him across the face and say “You know what your problem is? Your problem is your mother didn’t smack you enough and tell you not to be snotty.” Also: I am not his baby sitter. What the hell.

Me: “Yes, this is documented there.”

Jeff: “Well *huff* you didn’t point me *huff* there.”

Me: “I didn’t point you there because I figured you could follow the header files for yourself. YOU’RE NOT THREE YEARS OLD YOU CAN FIGURE THINGS OUT FOR YOURSELF.”

I didn’t actually say the last two sentences, I was only thinking it. Ed was always able to follow my code.

Oh, and incidentally, I met Christina in person today. She is just as cute as she sounds over the phone. She is usually this disembodied voice that I hear from Austin when things go wrong with our tools in the server division. Too bad she doesn’t work at our site. It was disappointing that I was too busy to do anything more than say “hi”.

I managed to restore the files from DoubleThink I which I thought I might have lost. I think this made Wayne’s life considerably easier. This is good, because he is doing me a favor in administering DoubleThink II in my absence.

I was rushing around at the last minute trying to make sure that everything was as stable as possible so that others wouldn’t have to clean up my messes. I escaped work at 5:17pm, which makes today the first day in several weeks that I got out before 7. And I noticed it was still light out!!!! It is so cool that it was after five and I wasn’t in total darkness. I skipped, hoped, and ran part way to my car because I didn’t want Them (the giant ants, and yes my coworkers) to catch me and drag me back in kicking and screaming.

It was so good to leave. I get home and the ANZACs my mum sent me for my party last Saturday were on my door step. Instead of being party food, I guess Tyler and I will be enjoying them in LA. It seems pointless to bring them with me to Australia.
