Special thanks to the lady who kindly lent me a twenty cent piece when I was five cents short at the train ticket vending machine.

Incidentally if that damn US quarter had been a ten cent piece I wouldn’t have been short!

i put this down to gender relations. [has begged an hr for a dollar, no ladies helped] significant difference between a dollar and 5 c but my theory stands. ;)

I personally would give $0.20 to pretty much any man, woman or child who asked, but I attribute this mainly to the fact that Australian change is so obnoxiously that I am always glad to be rid of it. The quarter (the largest US coin in normal circulation) I for some reason had is just a tiny bit bigger than a Aussie ten cent piece.

I'm thankful regardless :)

lol i like the large coins, but i attribute that to my blindness. ;)
poland has really small coins and it always takes some getting used to when i go there because they all look like 5c pieces to me. ^^

Ugu. You should see russian currency...kopeyki (cents). It's so small it looks like toy money. My favourite one is 10 kopeek (cents). It has St. George (Георгий Победоносец), the one slaying the dragon on it. It is rather small but!
