Sydney was in awe as the Queen Mary 2 and QE2 arrived yesterday. Walking through the gardens afterward was a mess. Brits have a reputation for being good at queuing (waiting in line; I don’t know if it is actually well deserved). Australians... not so much. What ensued resembled a free-for-all. Maybe because it was.

I've heard it was crazy.
I'm surprised that so many people went to see it. Was it made into a big fuss in the media beforehand?

There must have been some media on about it, but I don't watch TV and I only read bits and pieces from the paper, so I'm not exactly sure what (I did read about how unprepared they were the next day... uh... no kidding). I went because I was at Potts Point that day and how often do you get to see largest ocean liner in the world?
