Almost every episode of Magnum PI was set in Hawai'i (and mostly just Oahu), but there were two parters set in Los Angeles and the UK, and at least one (maybe two episodes) episodes set in the Washington DC area. I live in the Washington DC area, but this weekend I am going to have my own Los Angeles two parter. I'm flying to LAX to hang out with my long time college friend Tyler. We will play video games, go to Jack in the Box, and maybe see a few dusty old fossils at the La Brea Tar Pits. Pretty much all the stuff we used to do while we were still in college (except the part about the fossils anyway). Monday morning I fly to San Jose for a company meeting that I would just as soon skip, but since they are paying the bulk of the flying expenses, they might not look too kindly on that. Tuesday morning I fly back home. That's right Tuesday 2 August 2011, the day civilization melts down unless the president and the congress can agree to a deal regarding the debt ceiling. So I hope that doesn't happen.
