The Return of Peter Cullen
Jul. 24th, 2006 09:38 pm
I was in a pretty foul mood after work, and feeling just a little bit lonely. I tried releasing some stress by playing Doom II while playing loud, angry music, and this helped a little bit, that isn't as effective as it was when I was in high school. Then on my way to Potts Point to retrieve some supplies that I had neglected on my last trip, I read on the Internet via my phone that Peter Cullen is to be the voice of Optimus Prime in the 2007 Transformers movie. He will be reprising the roll that he played in the original series. Now, I know it is a dumb thing to care about, and while it doesn't improve my life in any measurable way, the news reversed my mood completely (you could say that Optimus "turned the tide") and I am now feel like I can take on the world again. Up until now, just about everything that I had heard about this movie was bad news, and while I fear there is a good chance that Michael Bay will do irreparable damage to the Transformers legend, I can forgive an awful lot now that Peter Cullen has... returned (just as Op did in 2006 in the original series). Now, if you will excuse me, I am going to go listen to "The Touch" repeatedly.
