Woke up this morning at like 5:30am or something from a dream, which was
profoundly disturbing. My first reaction was to try and write it down
because I have long ago got into the habit of doing that so that I can
remember my dreams. After I wrote down everything that I could remember, I
realized I really didn't want to remember it, but it was too late at
that point. It left me feeling very uneasy, but I managed to go back to
sleep so that I could wake up at a more sensible hour.
Also, I figured out how to get my new camera... er... I mean my new phone to
take pictures up to 1024x768. Here is a really poorly lit photograph of my
new G5s AKA Figment. There is even a flash on my phone, it is really
shitty and doesn't seem to help at all, but talk about features man. Adil
was all excited about my phone when I showed it to him. He wanted to show
it to Steve (someone in EDA, not Kathy's Steve). I was thinking to myself:
it's just a phone for crying out loud. Well. It is also a camera, but
even that is somewhat incidental. Steve wasn't around immediately, but
later he came to my office, came in (didn't even say hello) and picked up
my phone and started checking it out. Then he proceeded to tell me all the
reasons why he didn't want to get this model, but it was really sad because
you could tell he was jealous of... a phone... shesh. It's not like his
phone doesn't have 99% of the same features or whatever.
Last night Tyler was all d00d (which is a legal hex number, incidentally) and I was all b30s (3l33t for BeOS), which I was pretty proud of for thinking up. I wonder what they hell Todd is up to now a days. Also: Tyler told me that he forgot the name of our first pet Quaker. I never thought I would see the day that he would forget that. What's next Tyler? Going to forget who transforms into the red semi-truck?
Okay so today I decided to get my wireless networking working again (like I used to tell Ronin, my Notworking was working, gosh we were two dorks). Why did I want to do this? Well I was talking to Theresa and suddenly I want to do my internets in bed without getting snagged by ethernet cable. Does that sound dirty? Only while I was messing around with cables... which are actually not too disorganized considering the number of devices that I have hooked up in this room... and I spilled juice all over one corner of my desk and almost got it all over my laser printer.
Oh, that reminds me, as far as things working and not working with my G5s: I found the CD for my other printer (the color one) so that means that I can print to either printer (or scan from the one which is also a scanner) from Figment. The film scanner stopped working, although it still works in Windows, which is irritating. I will look into it later. AFS still doesn't work. I made a sad attempt at compiling the kernel drivers last night using the latest unstable source tree, but I was still getting missing symbols, so I think I will just wait until they have a binary release. So almost everything works. I think that is pretty good considering I use some bleeding edge technologies and Tiger only just came out.
I have been having some humorous adventures with my iPod, but that story will wait until I get to the end of it.
