when the only constant is change
Nov. 2nd, 2016 01:23 pmThere are two types of people when it comes to websites. Those that hate change, and those who have learned to accept that it will happen anyway. I say this, mind you, not just as someone who uses websites, but also as someone who works on a website for a living. A small one, with a small user base. The last time we had a major revamp of the website I wasn't the one in charge of the User Interface (UI). The next one (which is on the horizon) I will be in charge of the UI. This is not that story. It comes later in the forth installment So Long and Thanks For All the Fish.
The[1] LiveJournal added a very The[2] Facebook feature: likes! I don't really have a strong opinion about this feature. At the very worst, I see it as an optional feature which is easily ignored if you don't want to use it. Others obviously feel that it will start the decline into the The Facebookification of The LiveJournal, as they commented on the announcement. I commented too! In retrospect saying people who are upset are hilarious is a bit troll-y, and for that I feel a little sorry.
If you do not passively-aggressively like this entry I will be quite disappointed.
