As it turns out, my life lacks the drama required to maintain my LiveJournal.

( If you are reading this off my website www.wdlabs.com/twilight then you probably are not aware that I mirror most of my blog onto the LJ. Peoples on the LJ come and go. They mostly go to trendy stuff like tumblr and the twitscape and the Facebook, but there a few hold outs. I was always a fan of the LJ because of the API and the quiet, but massively useful technologies to come out of it like memcached and gearman, although none of that happens anymore now that Brad has left the company. None of this is my point, just background. )

I was offered a job with a company here in Maryland that pays better and offers more advancement possibilities, and as it happens is not subject to government funding (this sounds good at the moment, although it looks like we might get two more weeks). As you probably know, I gave my two weeks notice, and my manager asked for an extra (third) week and as a compromise I gave them the two days I had decided to take off between working at The Bureau and my next job. Nobody seemed too excited either way about my departure (except me of course). This was a relief, because I thought they might be mad. Management at The Bureau decided the two extra days was not necessary, so my manager asked if it was okay if my last day was Friday after all, the day I originally intended to be my last. Entirely drama and angst free.
