Today I walked through the gardens and took the ferry to Manly. The sun poked his head out a few times, but it wasn’t too hot. When I got to the beach he disappeared for good, and it was just a tad too cold for a swim, so I had an ice cream instead, double scoop of mint chocolate chip and cookies and cream on a waffle cone that had been dipped in chocolate. No whipped cream though. I’m not into that. Going to Manly and walking around has got to be one of my favourite things to do when I have nothing to do. I think tomorrow I might go again and hike out to the spit and back. Or maybe I’ll go see Auntie Rae in Collaroy and swim in the ocean.

Backup Hassey body should arrive tomorrow. Then I can start taking square photos again. I have a ton of film to shoot (20 rolls of 220 and 15 rolls of 120, plus one dejected roll of C-41 120). Although given the rate I have been going through 35mm I am not sure that it will last long. Hopefully there will be no dramas and I can use it for the remainder of my time down under. When I get back to the states I am going to have some camera gear in need of repair and maintenance. I could get it fixed down here, in fact there is a place near Town Hall station which does beautiful work—when I had them fix the shutter on my Nikon FE, it came back better than new—but it is expensive.

I’m making dinner tonight, just for mum and myself. It’s nothing fancy, but usually she cooks and so tonight she can relax.

Is anyone else tired of hearing about the iPad? Now that we know what it is called.
