civilisations and zobies

the mX tweeted:

“Civilisation would likely be finished in the event of a zombie attack, say mathematicians who have calculated the possible devastation.^[1]”

which means that this will probably be expanded in tonight's "what in the weird" section of the free commuter daily. The statement brings up two questions:

1. Which mathematicians are spending time trying to work this out and
2. did they take into account the fact that zombies can't climb ladders.
