Death Cubed

Harry the Hood
Harry, as he would have appeared in the video game Death Cubed, had I ever gotten around to writing it. It could really use some fill flash, given the amount of sunlight clearly present. I forget who Harry was supposed to be based on, but he had a highly violent temperament; if you will notice the plethora of armaments he is adorned with (ha, look ma, no Thesaurus). He showed up in the two games preceding DC: The Last Sunset and Homeland.

Update: I sent this to Dave, and he responded thus:

...
Heh. That brings back a lot of memories. I somehow remember recording a soundbite related to this... "I am professor Winthrop. Harry J Winthrop, the third." Or something like that. And I remember trying to blow up propane-filled balloons at Guthries house... and his dad telling us not to try the same thing with gasoline... I think we also tried some sort of flour bomb with firecrackers. Or something. All in the name of special effects for the game.

What ever happened to those games? Do you still have copies of them lying around?

Hmmmm. I miss being a video game developer.
...
You know, the other thing that this reminds me of are the pictures that we tried to take of me (?) skewered against a tree. I think. Or maybe axed against a tree. Does that ring a bell to you?

These must have been very violent games. :)
...

I responded by pointing Dave to my Last Sunset project page:

and finished with this comment:

P.S. my close friend from college Tyler works for EA doing sound, so I live a little bit vicariously through him :)

I miss being a video game developer too.

Forgot

I forgot to bring my iPod to work. Damn it, that means listening to Jeff whine about his incompetence as a software engineer. I zipped through from 2 February to today in my Dilbert calendar. Dilbert doesn’t seem a funny as it used to. It just seems sad now. Oh well, at least I don’t have to open my door until Ron arrives at 2pm.
