Where I work we have almost ten million different incompatible computer systems, all of which use their own authentication schemes, and of course each password must be changed every three months.
I know my technical team leaders password for one such incompatible system, and when it changes I have to guess what he changed it to. I don’t have my own password for that system, because the paperwork to get one is a nightmare. Fortunately he uses a pattern which is very easy to follow, so as you can see it is a good thing they have such a strict security policy, because it is obviously doing its job in preventing people from doing dangerous things like sharing passwords.
When I first started nothing was setup I had to go around to all sorts of different people and get added to whatever access control lists. My job isn’t to do my job. My job is to get other people to do their job.

Oops. Don’t get me started.
